How far sighted will I be?

In the next few weeks I am going to be undergoing Cataract surgery. I have been near sighted my entire life and have been informed that I will now be far sighted after the surgery. However since I have never been far sighted I have no reference for what exactly this means.

Could anyone who has undergone the surgery please explain to me a bit how far is far sighted or whatever?

  1. No one, especially footprint, can tell how farsighted you will be.

  2. most likley trouble reading, you may need reading glasses

  3. it really depends on how healthy your eyes are, no one can tell you for sure how good you may see post surgery. You will likely just need glasses for near correction so you can read and do computer work.

  4. You will most likely need reading glasses after, for close work, that's all.

But it will be a joy to have great distance vision back.
