As of right now my husband drives 4 miles to work. That is about a 5 minute drive. But we are thinking of moving about 75 miles away & that would mean it would be more like a 1 hour (all express-way) drive one-way each morning. I'm really excited about the move but am concerned about that distance for him

  1. I drive only 15 minutes now.  My husb and I relocated to a small town with little traffic.  Prior to this, we both drove expressway and with traffic.  It took me an hour to drive each way, sometimes longer.  I hated it!!  It was extremely frustrating.

Now, I enjoy the extra 7.5 hours I have each week from not commuting!!  That is 390 hours a year that I save.

I hope this helps you in the decision making process.

  2. i live at the top of the mountians in california. i only drive 28 miles to work, but it takes almost an hour. in the winter it sometimes takes 2 hours.

i love where i live and the drive is just something i deal with. you get use to it.

  3. Half a mile... takes about one minute in my car... if my car would not start i would ring in sick.   do you think im lazy...

  4. That's going to ad a least two hours a day on good day to his work load, No it's not worth it.

  5. Don't do it, life is to short to spend that much time travelling in the herd.

  6. I work at home, it doesn't take anytime at all, I live in Southend, Essex, and I'm the CEO of my own small company; it's very much worth it.

  7. I work one block from my day job and about another block or so from my part time job.  It's great because after a long night at my part time job, I can roll out of bed 1/2 hour before work if I need to and still make it there on time.

  8. lianna you dumb *** you shold of stayed with whats his name

  9. My family lives in Pennsylvania and my dad works right outside of Washington D.C. and he makes the commute like every other day.  The commute is about 2 hours.  He just bought an xm radio to listen to, but I think the drive relaxes him.

  10. tell him to see if he can get a raise to make up for the gas he uses.  Tell the boss if he doesnt get a raise he will just find a job closer to where you are moving.  If he is good at what he does the boss will most likely give him a raise to keep him working there.
