what is the max speed of a rally car during a race ? and the ususal speed ?

  1. Around 300kmph would be the top speed.


  2. In a road rally if you are on time you are traveling at CAST which is the speed determined to get you from checkpoint A to checkpoint B as determined by the Rally Master.

    If you are not on time, and we will assume you are late rather than early; then you are traveling at the speed you determine will get you back on time without getting busted by the cops.

    The rally master cautions you at the start of the rally not to exceed local speed limits, but he is not racing, he is giving trophies and he has already got his by breaking many speed laws in his past.

    So you are going the speed you need if your vehicle is able.

    In my rallying days my usual speed was CAST and my maximum was in excess of 80 mph in a TR-6.
