How fast can a human being run? Right now, the theoretical limit is just under 30 miles per hour

The top speed could not be determined  by just dividing the 100 meter distance by the time, in the world record, which is what some people do. Top speed is probably achieved about half way through a race.  Best estimates are close to 30 mph, but I believe no one had a speed gun on Usain Bolt at his top speed.
