How fast can scooters go? + what does cc mean?

im thinking about getting a scooter, but i dont want to be limited to be going the crappy 40mph

what is the fastest type of scooter?

also, is there anything you can do to a scooter after you've bought it to speed it up.

dont care if its illegal :P

CC does not mean cubic capacity! IT means cubic centimeters. How big the engine is.

I have a 2001 Malaguti Ducati Foggy Replica 50cc 2 stroke water cooled that will do 62mph derestricted !

the cc is displacment or size of engine.   vespa makes a scooter that can do 70 plus .  the speedo marks 90

Scooter can go up to 100+ mph. They start at 50cc and go up to 650cc.    Depending on the maker. What you need to do it figure out just what you are going to do with it. If you are only going to run around on city streets is one thing going on the high way is another. As far as it being legal. If you are under age and riding what is supposed be a 50cc and not over 35mph and your going 60 mph. Then they will take your scooter. These kids on here do not know what they are talking about. There are a lot of things you can do to a scooter to make it go faster. If you are talking about those little things they sell at pep boys then that is a whole different story they are not legal anywhere except your yard.   cc are the engine size in centimeters

cc means cubic capacity.

Most scooters do around 30 - 40 miles per hour, but they can be de-restricted to go around 50mph. very simple process, look it up on google

the larger cc do go abit faster.

but on a scooter, you dont want to be going too fast, there not built for that!

The cc means cubic capacity.  The higher the cc the faster the scooter can go.  But be careful, because in my state (NH) if it has 150 cc engine it has to be licensed like a motorcycle. Also all motorcycle rules of the road apply.
