How fast can you get off your antidrepressant?

I am on cymbalta, Can I take one every other day for a week and then none or what they are capsules.

  1. talk to the psychiatrist that prescribed them.


  2. Go off them as slowly as possible to avoid withdrawl sysmptoms

  3. Only as fast as your doctor tells you.  Seriously, withdrawals from anti's are nothing to mess around with.  Tell your prescribing doctor to develop a dosage reduction plan over time so you can safely wean off the drug.

I don't know about cymbalta but with celexa i had to cut the tablets, i think from a whole to 3 quarters and then 1/2 etc until i was down to less than a quarter, took each size of tablet for about 4 or 5 days before going down to next size, sounds ridiculous but i had really bad head shocks and blackouts if i didn't.

    Just realised you said they're capsules, the dr will prob have to give you different dosages.

  5. start something else, like drinking coffee.
