  1. usain bolt wins gold in the 100

    with a 9.69

  2. I think the question should be what time to you think he would have gotten if he wasn't on Steroids

  3. I wonder! But it was obvious that he went there to win and not break any records. So when he realized that it was almost impossible for him to lose, he just slowed down.

Geesh! Imagine if he had actually set out to break a record.

  4. id say 9.58

  5. Since he was too stupid to run all the way through the line, I guess we'll never know. How ironic though, he's an Olympic gold medalist, a world record holder and yet he's a total slacker...amazing.

  6. usain bolt

    superstar

  7. USAIN BOLT= INSANE THUNDER BOLT

  8. Announcer on CBC guessed 9.4!  I have to agree!

  9. My opinion.. I think he would have run, at best, a 9.65 if he ran through to the tape.

He did throw his hands in the air and slow down a little, but he was still flying - and at that speed, you cover those distances rather quickly.

Now, imagine if he ran full tilt and also had a legal wind assistance of +1.7 m/s... (remembering that he ran with zero wind assistance in this race). We're talking high 9.5s already - and if he tightened up his slow starts he would be running low 9.5s.

This guy is an absolute freak. How he doesn't tear his quad muscle from the bone is beyond me.

  10. Considering that someone running 100m when reaching 80-90m the "relax" attitude doesn't decrease speed that much because the body is already impelled forward by a powerful force called inertia, so i would say if bolt kept running at all speed until the end he would get less .1 seconds = 9.56s that would probably get rounded to 9.59. I think Usain Bolt is someone unusual and to think he beats all records by far playing like this what will happen when he actually goes to attack the records seriously. He's still very young and if nothing bad happens he might become the most famous 100m runner ever.

  11. Agreed, He could go less than 9.69s! Anyway this champ breaks his own world record. He said, "I didn't come here to run the world record, because I was the world record holder. I came here to win,"

  12. 9.5 seconds easily

  13. dat a be lightin he can knock ya down in a quickie rep ARE BLOCK

    JAMAICA!!

  14. im going with the guy who mentioned inertia...

the 100m race is all about the start, once you get to 70 meters its just about maintaining those freakish speeds...

im still all jittery having just sen the race.

the commenter said he may have hit the 30mph range...

thats insane, i cant do that on my bike...

  15. He is actually smart. He still has the 200 meters still to be run. So that's why he shut it off in the 100 meters. Otherwise he would have set even 9.4 seconds.

"I just ran the first 50 meters, then I looked around to make sure I was safe and I shut it off" - Usain Bolt

  16. he should really have gone all out until the end of that race, he would have set an amazing record that would never be broken, well not for a long time at least. (not that 9.69 is not amazing). I would say he could have gotten 9.5 easily.

  17. u know what, it doesn't really matter because he can still beat his record in the finals on wednesday =]
