How fast could Usain Bolt run the 100 mtrs?

My guess is 8 seconds...if he wasnt such a poser..why doesnt he SMASH the world record, so it cant ever be beaten

I think Bolt could have run 9.50 but hey he did Jamaica proud and the 100m isn't even his race. I love the way he just cooled down at the end and just pounded his chest cause he is the best in the world!!!!

I think I have seen that race about 100 times already and I could watch it again and again. And that dance he did after is called the 'Nuh Linga".

Bolt is not a poser he is just AWESOME. He is a 200m runner who took the Olympic Gold medal and Smashed the world record for the 100m.

9.69 and he was just cruising.... nobody can touch that!!!!

I'm a little miffed at him for cruising, mainly because I'm so darned curious as to what his time would have been if he ran through the tape.  He could have set a record which maybe wouldn't be broken in our lifetime.  Instead, he plans on breaking it himself later. Well, what if there IS no later?  He could get run over crossing a street tomorrow or anything else could happen to injure him and prevent that from happening. I just wish he  went ahead and did his best right then.

Bolt went to the olympics to win a gold medal which he did and did that comfortably so job done he still has to run the 200's so he has to save himself for that

Now put the record out of site that would be indeed stupid at the big meetings you get bonus money for breaking world records (Bubka pole vault) so why put it out of site it is worth dollars

I think the lower 9.6's is attainable but I also think Asafa Powell can run below 9.7 so there is I think still competition out there both from Powell and g*y
