Question:

How fast could i run 3.1 miles by August 15th?

I'm a 19 year old female. I played 3 sports year round ever since i was in middle school (softball, basketball and track). I work out almost daily, lift weights and would consider myself very athletic. I played softball my first year at a small college. I use to be able to run a mile in 6:30ish, but let myself get outta shape second semester and can run a mile in 7:15ish now. the only long distance i have run is a half marathon in April. With proper training how fast could i run 3.1 miles by August 15th b/c i was considering going out for XC at my school.

  1. i don't know how fast you could go, maybe 22 minutes or so is my VERY rough guess.  if you are looking for a good training schedule to help you though here is one:

Well without knowing your height and weight you'll have to work at it hard........but if you are truly dedicated I think ya could pull off around something in the 21 min. range.  As motivation think how long it took yourself get out of shape and realize it will be a tough road ahead to get back into shape.........it won't be easy but you can do it!!       Good Luck

  3. with a proper diet and regular workout sessions you could get right back into the 6's easy. If your really serious about it and dont get lazy you could even end up better then you were first semester. It all depends on the attitude 2 to 3 months is long enough time
