  1. well it depends. i kno a 16 year old pitcher who can throw like 90 something miles an hour. others wont be that good. it just depends on the team and the person and the skill level.

Their pitches also depend on their level of skill.i kno 15 and 16 yera olds that throw curve balls, fast balls, s***w balls,  sliders,  changeups and basically everything.

then i also know a few who jsut throw the ball as hard as they can and try to aim it to the cather's mit.

    it just depends.

  2. The typical high-schooler will throw around 75 MPH.  On a rare occasion, there may be one who throws near 90 MPH.

  3. when my boyfriend was in high school he was throwing around 80-90 mph...

  4. depends on the player. the highest could be in the high 80's to 90's but thats a really good player. most good pitchers would be mid 70's to mid 80's

  5. It really varies from person to person but if you wanna go by me, a 15 year old, I top out around 68-70 and can throw a slider, curve, and a circle changeup.

  6. for 15 to 16 i'd say 15 the median would be about 72.

16 about 74. each age topping out around 5 to 6 mph faster. that would be average.

90 plus would be great. 94 plus would be elite. 85 plus would be very good 80 plus would be good. below 70 would be poor.

  7. It depends on the pitcher but generally speaking an average fastball at that age is 70 to 75 MPH. An above average fastball will go 76 to 86 MPH and for the elite (and quality prospect level) they will top 87 MPH. It is exceptionally rare to see any 15 or 16 year old  throw the 90 MPH fastball but it does happen. But speed isnt nearly as important as command, a mid 70s or 80s fastball that cant find the strikezone very often will only get you hammered. Master the strikezone and learn to throw both a 2 seam and 4 seam fastball (this will vary the speed and movement) and learn a 3rd pitch. A curveball would be a good choice, it isnt as hard on the arm and you can throw it easily in the same motion. Hitting the strikezone is the most important and from there movement and speed control will make you the best pitcher you can be (without changing speeds no matter how hard you throw the other team will eventially time you and pound the ball). And long toss as often as possible, it will stretch out and strengthen your throwing motion....more speed! And dont forget to take care of the midsection and legs, that is where you find your power and stamina, pitching requires a lot of full body care and the ability to forget the bad pitches (mental toughness).

  8. for freshman and JV teams pitchers throw:

    fastballs of 65-70

    curve balls of 50-60

    sliders of 55-65

    change ups of 50-60
