  1. engine size is what determines how fast you will go.  a newer 400 will go somewhere between 90 to 105. a 500 will go slightly faster.  then there are the big toys, 700 and 800's will break 115 and go anywhere up to 130 or more.

  2. Drpepper i have to disagree with you on the 500. You cant get a 500 past 70 with out a pipe and can.

The 800 will go fast enough for everyone. Need more speed? Add a pipe and can. We have a 2008 ski doo 800. I have been at 90 mph and was not at full throttle. Still need to take it to an airstrip and see how fast it can go. Need more speed? Some people like them but alot of people have gone back to the 800. There is a 1000. I personally dont like them...too many problems. But the speed is there.

  3. There is a difference between track speed and actual speed. If the spedometer says you're going 100mph you might only be going 95mph. the speed depends in the engine size and what's been done ot the sled. If it has studs, it can go slower or faster depending on the amount and type of stud. If the belt is new or older, can make it faster or slower. The belt tension can make it go slower or faster. The clutching, engine temperature, aftermarket exhaust.....There are a lot of variables. The world record is 192.2 on a full blown race sled.

  4. depends on how big the engine is. I have gotten one about 70 mph.
