  1. At the Daytona preshow, the Thunderbirds will fly below the sound barrier, at about 650 mph.

    The F16, however, is capable or reaching a speed of 1,350 mph.

  2. they are F-16cs so:

        * At sea level: Mach 1.2 (915 mph, 1,460 km/h)

        * At altitude: Mach 2+ (1,500 mph, 2,414 km/h)

    But just because they can go that fast doest mean that they were. I am sure it was less than Mach 1 otherwise the sound would be very very loud.

  3. The Thunderbirds cannot break the sound barrier during a show becase if they did all glass within a certain radius of the plane will shatter.

    But, to answer your question, a little bit less than the speed of sound.
