  1. depend bro wats ur position is and if ur being used to get more territory or scor tries

  2. This depends on a lot of factors, some of which include specific position, ability to sidestep/juke, type of club you're playing with, etc. Generally wingers are the fastest on the field. In terms of specifics, that is hard to define, but you can take a look at some of the professional standards. I don't know specific speeds, but as a back, you should be faster than all the forwards. You should be really fast ideally. Take a look at the sources for more information.

  3. well. it sorta depends really...

like, if you want to be flyhalf, scrumhalf, inside centre you dont particularly have to be fast. in the outside backs (outside centre, wing, fullback) it is definately better to have a little bit of speed but at the same time, there are many outside backs who dont have speed

the main thing over speed is having good endurance cus you have to keep it up for a long time

  4. It helps if youre really fast like 100m in maybe 11 secs but the most important thing is you have to be fit you have to be able to run the whole game without stopping apart from maybe a penalty and half time etc.

  5. im a prop, a big powerfull nt very fast perswon but im quick enough to knock people over. A back can be very fast but on my team we have backs thats just as slow as me but can sidstep their wat out of trouble so it really depends on where your playing as well but if you have a decent coach then he'll know where to put you. hope that helped

  6. you not only have to be fast but you need to have stamina to last the whole time of the game. It also depends on your position and where your placed in the backs. but if your not fast it can been replaced with with agility.

  7. you have to be really fast to be a back not only fast but be really fit aswell

  8. Victorian Rugby Union under 18's backs have to be able to run between 12.3 and 13.9 in the beep test.

if your even close to that, then you should definitely start playing.

  9. It really depends on the strategies that your team uses. Our outside centre is unnaturally fast, and so she is our main finisher. I play winger outside of her, and am not particularly fast - my role is more like that of a forward, but holding my position. I defend on the wings when the forwards can't get there in time. I also pull back to help the fullback on a lot of occassions, but because of the team dynamics, speed isn't that important for the position that I am in. Our left winger, on the other hand, is very quick, because she tends to take all the blindside plays. I am currently training for scrum half, which is another position which doesn't really require speed, more important is guts and stamina. Find a position which works for you; depending on the rest of the team, playing as one of the half-backs or as inside centre might be a better position for you if you are not as quick. Alternatively, you could think about playing as an openside flanker?
