I would like to buy the small keg of beer, but can't drink it all in one sitting. Will these keep the beer drinkable for about a week or so?

  1. Not in my fridge it won't...seriously they should be good for a day perhaps two, but I wouldn't go any longer.  Once air gets to beer it starts to go bad.  That is why kegs use a CO2 system.  Save the mini keg for a party where it can be enjoyed and finished in a night!

  2. Beer kegs can last unspoiled for up to 6 months giving that it has been propperly stored in a cool, dry, Humid area.

I would say about 3 mins to empty the small keg if your a MAN. If less, i take my hat of too you sir.

  3. Carbonation will begin to be lost almost immediately. Officially, they will last up to 3 weeks after tapping. Personally, I won't drink them after a week. There is to much flavor and carbonation loss and it saddens me. I have about a pint of Oberon I need to dump at home right now. I tapped it last Sunday, and haven't had time to polish it off...I know sinful when you're talking about a beer that good.

    EDIT:

Just as a test I poured some of the Oberon last night. It was still "drinkable" but it wasn't enjoyable. I dumped the glass and the remainder of the keg.

I'll restate what I said before...no more than a week.

  4. A week should be fine. Don't the Heineken kegs have a cap you can put back on the top? If so, you're fine.
