  1. M.C.A. or minimum controllable airspeed is determined by calculating lift. Lift is determined by the shape and size of the lifting surfaces (wing) as well as the weight of the plane at max gross take off weight, and available horsepower. Let me ask you this though, how will you know what speed your plane is traveling?

    Just build it, let er rip down the runway until it lifts off the ground, if it doesn't, you know that you need a bigger motor.

    Head on down to the local hobby shop and see what motors are recommended for the size plane you're building.


  2. too many unknowns. Need wing span, motor power, drag, airplane shape, lots more.

    Like asking how fast an actual airplane can take off. They vary from 20 mph to 300 mph.
