  1. differs greatly depending on the gun and ammunition

  2. Depending on which caliber you are talking about, it can be anywhere from around 800 fps to well over 3000 fps.  Some calibers approach 4000 fps.

  3. All of the commercial muzzle velocities are listed on their web sites.  If you look at Wolf ammo and their Military Classic" line, http://www.wolfammo.com/index.php?option... you will find that the 124gr bullet 7.62x39 of the AK is traveling at 2330 fps.

If you go to Winchester and their 123gr soft point hunting ammo, http://www.winchester.com/products/catal...     you will see 7.62x39 traveling at 2365 fps.

Fast handgun ammo such as the .460 S&W   loaded with Hornady ammo is traveling at 2200 fps with a 200 gr bullet in a 8 3/8" barrel.  This gives the .460 2149 ft-lb of energy vs the 1527 ft lbs of the 7.62x39.

That means that the .460 S&W handgun bullet has more power at the muzzle than the AK47.

  4. It depends on the gun, but I'd say most firearm bullets travels somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 feet per second out the barrel.

  5. Any where for 900 fps For some heavy caliber hand guns up to 3,000 fps for some high velocity rifles. Any every inbetween.

What you need to do is buy a copy of Shooter's Bible. It gives all the different calibers and the ballistics on the different loads available for them.

  6. depends on the bullet and gun.

  7. Every load from every gun is different. You can get a good idea from handloading websites, which give various loads for multiple calibers. Note that they publish average velocities chronographed from their test barrels, and results will vary from a different gun of the same caliber. I'd suggest http://www.hodgdon.com for a start.

  8. In an AK47, it's usually around 750 m/s. And it's really depends on what kind of gun and bullet you used...

  9. for a handgun you're usually looking at around 325 m/s. Variances can occur even within the same guns based on the density of the bullet and the quality of the projectile. check out the wikipedia link.

  10. AK47 - 710 m/s.

  11. Anywhere from 770 feet per second to over 4000 feet per second depending on the caliber of the handgun or rifle.* The AK47 travels at almost 2400 ft per second.*

  12. I think that a gun fired bullet would travel between 500-2000 Meters per second, but someone who has taken military training would know.

  13. Very broad Q

Muzzle velocity is usually measured in feet per second FPS.

They continue to accelerate for a short time after leaving the barrel.

Depends  basically on bullet weight , length of barrel & powder charge

Broad answer ......handguns start  @ less than  900fps  fastest  rifle  round I know of is 4,110 fps

  14. Depends on Muzzle Velocity.

Each gun has a different MZ I believe. However, longer barreled guns shoot farther (and faster) I think. The bigger the gun, the more deadly it is, but that is not necissarily true with all guns.

  15. it depends on a number of factors such as type of gun, type of ammunition, length of barrel, etc.  handguns can discharge a bullet anywhere from 800 feet per second up to 1700 feet per second out of the barrel.  Most rifles can send a bullet cruising at over 2300 feet per second.  There are many variables though, and many have to do with the weight of the bullet, they amount of charge/gunpowder used in the load, etc.

  16. very fast!

  17. one thing first is that it depends on what powder is being used. an ak47 does travel fast. but a handgun with out being more specific to type like a .38 a .45. .50 .22 or a pistol six shooter or an automatic. an older model or one of the new models.

  18. for American use the value is measured in Feet per second.

For a handgun, it can be as slow as 600 feet per second in a target loading or 1400 feet per second in a high velocity load.

An AK-47 is around 2200 to 2300 feet per second with a 125/130 grain projectile.

  19. hand gun 1,876 m/h

  20. so fast you can't see it

  21. usualy a couple thousand feet per second. depending on the caliber and how much powder is behind the bullet.

  22. Depends.  The original loading for the .45 acp was something like 875 feet per second out of the muzzle.  A .357 Magnum can be as fast as 1,500 fps.  Rifles can exceed 2,000 fps.  My .25-06 Remington (24" barrel) is rated at 3,000 fps muzzle velocity.  The 7.62x39 SOVIET (the AK-47 round) is around 2,300 fps muzzle velocity.
