Now Im wondering how much longer will we have her with us.?

  1. The best way to treat cancer is complete surgical removal, so I am unsure why you would think that . . in general though it is better to have an oncological surgeon operate because they know what to look for and how wide the margins should be. They have more expertise.

Hundreds of thousands of cancer patients are operated on all over the world, probably on pretty much a daily basis . .that's how common it is.

As far as how fast cancer can spread . . generally it will depend on the type and grade of the disease . . some types grow faster than others. You need to find out what stage and grade the disease is currently in . . and than the doctors will give her a protocol to follow for treatment. Survival will depend on her age, overall health, response to treatment, the grade and stage of the cancer as well as the specific cancer type. She may be with you a long time if this is an early stage of the disease . . and even if it is an advanced cancer there is treatment. Don't give up on her so easily.  Contact a few online support groups for help finding resources, treatment options, and answers.

  2. My guess is that it would depend on the type and stage it was in. Try this website. www.webmd.com

  3. This depends on what stage she has. I'm sorry. I don't know much about this cancer. May God be with her and I'll be praying for her, too.

  4. I offer my utmost POSITIVE thoughts to your stepdaughter and your family. I am a father of three and I have had cancer myself, I understand. I suggest that you get a second opinion from a University medical system in your State, one that deals specifically with cancer and/or doctors that are specialists in the same. As far as how fast does it spread, it depends on the type of cancerous cells... Only good doctors can accurately diagnose this, and even then they are not perfect... Sometimes cancer has no symptoms until it is in advanced stages, but NEVER give up hope, NEVER quit! I hope that your stepdaughter is blessed...

  5. Cervical cancer was once one of the most common causes of cancer death for American women. Since the introduction of the Pap smear, the number of cervical cancer deaths in the United States has dropped by 74%.

The death rate from cervical cancer continues to decline by about 2% a year.

Half of women diagnosed with cervical cancer in the US are between the ages of 35 and 55. It rarely occurs in women younger than 20.
