-Faster than sound

-As fast as sound

-Slower than sound

-Slower than an airplane

I know the answer, but it's buried back in my head. I learned the answer years ago. =,=; I thought it didn't really matter...

  1. Circumference at the equator = 40,075 km. Time taken to rotate once = 23.93 hours. Speed = 40,075/23.93 = 1,675 km/hr. The speed of sound in air is 1,220 km/hr. The first answer is correct. Some military aircraft can fly faster than 1,675 km/hr so the last answer is untrue in general, but not 100% untrue.

  2. Faster than sound.
