  1. Relative to what?  If I choose my frame of reference appropriately, it's easy for me to travel at c.

  2. We are a long way from even traveling close to the speed of light.

The Apollo astronauts regularly traveled almost 25,000 miles per hour! That's the fastest man has ever gone.

The speed of light is 669,600,000 miles per hour! That means that the Apollo missions traveled about .0037 % the speed of light! (That's 37 ten-thousandths of a percent the speed of light.)

Put another way, they would have had to travel more than 26,000 times faster to almost reach the speed of light! Whew. We have a long way to go...

  3. That would be Apollo 10 (Thomas P. Stafford, John W. Young, Eugene A. Cernan) at 39,896 km/h (24,790 mph)

We are not even close to light speed is exactly 299,792,458 metres per second (1,079,252,848.8 km/h or 299,792.458 km/s).

As you can see Apllo 10 was not even close .0000369663 times the speed of light.

The fastest unmanned spacecraft was Helios 2 probe 252,792 km/h (157,078 mph).  It picked up the speed by flying really close by the sun.

  4. the fastest man has ever travelled is terminal velocity

  5. (1): The Saturn V rocket (NASA) traveled at about 24,500 M.P.H. at maximum velocity, Making that the highest speed at which humans have ever traveled.

    (2) Light years...LOL!
