  1. sea horse pace.

  2. Typically the big ships travel between 15 and 20 knots. (a knot is about 1.15 miles) Remember they travel 24 hours a day so on a typical day they will travel over 400 miles. The distance between ports is usually less than that so they take a wide path to reach their destination. I was on a cruise a month ago and we got up to 23 knots to make up some time since we had to perform a rescue at sea.

  3. Emotional beast what a load of bo**ocks.

They travel anything between 20-30 knots, depending on currents, sea state etc...

  4. General answer:  24 knots.

Specific Ship Answer:  You can visit the respective cruise line web site and get the specifics on each ship.

At www.cruisecritic.com, this website has pull down menus to get facts and opinions of every major cruise line and every cruise ship.

Try it and see if the information answers your specific ship question.

    Good Luck.

  5. 18 to 21 knots, which is about 27 to 31.5 miles per hour.

  6. Most cruise ships will do 20 to 25 knots.  A few will reach 30 but this is also weather dependent.  I was on an old ship a couple of years back which was scheduled to do 18 knots from Corsica to Mallorca in the med but against a big wind and sea we only made good 13 knots and were hours late arriving.

  7. average is 23 knots

  8. 20-30 knots which equals about 22-32 mph

  9. 70-75 mph
