Seriously though, waterskiing is becoming less of an "who you know sport" that it was in the past due to the high costs of boats, equipment and water access. But nowadays, boats are cheap, equipment is cheap the worst thing for it is the cost of gas. So in that aspect waterskiing is growing faster than it ever has. Especially with many younger people jumping on the bandwagon of wakeboarding, the sport in general is more widespread now than ever. Nearly everyone you know does or has been skiing or wakeboarding at least once in their life.

on my lake if you ski you are OLD, even if not by age but by association. no one wants to learn to ski.
