  1. well the usually under 56seconds...

but the best are around 52 or below..

    when i was 15 i ran 49.78..

    now I'm 16 running 47.72.

  2. about 50 seconds??

  3. If you are a 1/4 miler, then you should be under 1 minute as a freshman.

  4. as a 400m race as a ninth grader with three years of experienced, you should run at least under a projected :58 seconds for a surprising time!

  5. The current world record is 43.18 seconds. So try to beat this time :-) Actually, 55 sec is nice time too.

  6. probably about 36 seconds.

  7. Without knowing any of your race times for the 100 or 200 it is impossible to say what you should run.

Most 9th grade boys can run low 50s, meaning somewhere between 51 to 55 seconds.

  8. The 400 takes a lot of training and also strategy.  After a full season of fitness training specifically designed for this long sprint, if you actually ran 50-51 seconds then you would probably break your high school's freshman record (you would at our San Diego high school)- in other words don't expect that.  If you can run it under 60 - it's fine, under 58 - is good, under 56 - is very good, under 54 - is excellent!--- If you actually ran a 49-50 then you would be winning invitational meets against seniors and juniors (and qualifying for your state meet).

As a freshman have fun and stay consistent with your training, eat well, stay hydrated and sleep.  Run distance during the off season and include hills and varying speeds.  Think of running relaxed and fast with good form and relax your hands.  Practice getting into a nice rhythm and rhythmic breathing also.  Then in your freshman year try different distances to see where your strengths are.  The 400m and the 800m are the toughest races (along with the 400m hurdles).  If you like that then GREAT.

    Good luck!

  9. without any training you should be able to do 70-65sec easily

    With some general conditioning 65-60sec.

with conditioning , practice, and a serious effort 60-50

Please keep in mind that some people (like me) have mostly slow-twitch fiber) but excel at long distance 9.5mile and farther. In reality,it just

depends of the amount of fast-twitch muscle fiber you have.

Weight training chest and should and legs of course
