How fast will my credit score go up?

Question

my credit scote dropped about 100 points in the last 6 months due to me opening a new credit card and basically maxing it out. I also have 2 things in collections totalling about $500 that I didnt even know about. If I pay down my credit card and pay off those bills in collections, will my credit score go up instantly?
