  1. Federer will go into the US Open  as the defending champion, so he HAS to win if he doesn't want to lose any more points. He'll probably end the year as the world number two. He can win points at the Australian Open if Djokovic loses early and Roger makes it to the finals. He'll still need to win a couple of more titles to catch up with Nadal. Right now he needs to prevent Djokovic from taking the number two position, which will be hard because the point difference between the two guys isn't too much.

  2. This yr NO CHANCE...........

Bt nxt yr he could,if he play that well n able 2 beat Rafa & Nole n other good players.........

  3. That's going to be very difficult. Even if he wins the US Open, he gets zilch for that because he won it last year. Nadal on the other hand can gain 850 points at the US if he wins. And right now, Nadal already has an 800 point lead over Federer. Unfortunately, there aren't too many places where Federer can gain points. Perhaps a little in Madrid and Paris. But there are many places for Nadal to extend his lead.

Federer's best chance at regaining the #1 is next year. That's when the dynamics change - Nadal will now have to defend all those  points, while Federer only has to gain points.

  4. Novak Djokovic will be number 3 for a long time. He has like 5500 points and Rafa and Roger has like 9000. Thats 4 grand slams he need to win. Perhaps if Djokovic can win a golden slam this year then he will be close to takin over number 2.

  5. I don't really know how he can get it back, but even if it's next year... I hope he gets it!!! I love Roger and I think as much a Nadal has earned the #1 spot, Federer looks better at that position... lol

  6. This year i dont think so

    next year he can :)

  7. Forget about Roger repossessing his reign unless Nadal quits playing.

Roger has to defend his 2007 US Open title, he won't add points, even if he wins. The same with Djokovic as a finalist. Roger will remain as # 2, for he's still 800 points ahead of Djokovic. Roger will have to work real hard next year winning the Aussie Open, Indian Wells, Miami, plus all of the clay court series, to regain his # 1 title. lol !
