  1. They are organized and optimized to do this.  Everything leaves the location in your town tonight, and goes either on a truck or on an airplane.  It flies to one of their national distribution centers, gets loaded on to another plane, and goes to the regional center.  Then it gets trucked to the location in the destination town or city, and broken out into routes that get trucked to you.  The operation is automated and computerized, because seconds count here.  

    Got a kid in scouts?  Suggest to the leader that you do a tour of the local office.  You'll get to see at least part of this first hand.
