If your having a party at the beach and sixties music I would suggest songs by the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean because those are songs that make you think about being on the beach.

Which part of the 60's?  There are 2 distinct styles of music.  Early 60's is Dion, Frankie Avalon, Fabian, Bobby Rydell ("bubble-gum" music) ... with the Beatles and British invasion artists starting about 1964 through the end of the 60's.  And, at the very end of the 60's, groups like Iron Butterfly, 3-Dog Night, Jefferson Airplane were starting their popularity....  The album from "Hair" is a good one to have;  "In-a-Gadda-da-Vida";  Beatles' "Rubber Soul," "Sgt. Pepper", and "Abbey Road" will pretty-much cover their career ......If you want very early 60's, you can get Chubby Checker (The "Twist"), and some Beach Boys and Jan & Dean too....
