How bad will my rides be now? I would switch them out but it was hard enough getting the new tire on the rim... Im a beginner at all this lol. If I had more to spend I would def do it. Just wanted to know how crucial the width is for mountain biking .

  1. I BMX and always have my front tire (2.1) wider than my back (1.95). But I need a different setup to a mountain bike.

Buy some tire irons, they're cheap and really help

  2. LOL... "How ghetto is it?"  I can't believe you said that, that's hilarious.

Seriously though, you already know you have them backwards.  Ideally, you want the tires to be a matched pair but if not, the wider one should be on the back for reasons of traction.

What you might want to do is, if it's not horribly inconvenient, is simply go to a local bike store and ask them to change them for you.  I know at my local bike shop, they charged me 5 bucks to do a tire swap.  Well worth it because I HATE changing tires myself.

  3. Your front tire hits the bumps harder, so having a larger front tire could be a good thing.  In any case, do not worry about it, there is no harm as long as your breaks work.

    Have fun : )
