  1. save on electricity. the power you use to make your gadgets work are primarily produced from fossil fuel. this fossil fuel is huge contributor of the greenhouse gases. in connection to this, use appliances that are energy efficient and hybrid cars. also, walk if you're just going to a place close by. not only will you cut on carbon monoxide released by your car, you'll also be able to exercise. finally, aprticipate in reforestation activities. forests are the most efective carbon "sinks" not only do they decrease the co2 in the atmosphere by using them in photosynthesis, they also produce oxygen as by-products which are known coolants of the atmosphere. and finally, share your knowledge on global warming. many people are still ignorant regarding this matter so enlighten them about this.

  2. Turn on your A.C. Never use a vehicle, live in the jungle.  Do it if you care so much about the environment.

  3. Global warming is indeed real and has been documented with ice cores dating back tens of thousands of years.

What is NOT real is the quackery that humans caused (or can even affect) global warming.

The scare tactics being perpetrated upon us are only a money/power grab scheme by bottom-feeder politicians accompanied by their so-easily-led sheeple who take their prattle, even their movies, as hard science

    .

To find that my statement above is true, follow the money. See just who it is who will profit from the carbon offset, carbon tax, & etc.

Here is truth about global warming:

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.

The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.

This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.

Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is

becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).

As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).

When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.

It's been happening for millions of years.

The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.

As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.

    Global warming/cooling, AKA 'climate change':

    Humans did not cause it.

    Humans cannot stop it.

  4. It can't. We can only slow it down a tiny little bit.

At one time there were forests in the middle east, they were chopped down. There were forests in England, they were chopped down.

The plains in North America, had trees, they were burnt to allow room for cattle, the N.American Bison, by the local Indians.

10,000 years ago, the UK was joined to to northern Europe.

Sri Lanka was joined to mainland India.

Stop listening to the media and do your own research.

  5. Get rid of the sun.

  6. Plant more plants as they have done a great job.

  7. Yes global warming can be prevented by planting more and more trees of indegenous species with respect to the regional perspective . Its results may come in years, but it should be initiated immediately. Trees seqestrate carbon from the atmosphere and assimilate  it in plant's body. Fast growing species can do this at faster pace and control temperature rise. each tree works like a machine. Cumulative effect of number of trees is significant.

Use of cleaner technologies in industries can also reduce  emmissions  of CFC gases ( green house gases) in the ambient atmosphere, that also helphs in controlling rise in global temperature.

  8. Actually, we are not sure we can prevent it. The earth has been warming and cooling naturally for millions of years. The present warming cycle may or may not be worse due to man's activities. Some believe we can stop it by burning less Fossil Fuels. Some believe it will not make much difference.

    God only knows the answer.

  9. No. its always happened.

  10. Replace a regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb (cfl)

CFLs use 60% less energy than a regular bulb. This simple switch will save about 300 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

    Install a programmable thermostat

Programmable thermostats will automatically lower the heat or air conditioning at night and raise them again in the morning. They can save you $100 a year on your energy bill.

Move your thermostat down 2° in winter and up 2° in summer

Almost half of the energy we use in our homes goes to heating and cooling. You could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple adjustment.

Clean or replace filters on your furnace and air conditioner

Cleaning a dirty air filter can save 350 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

Choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchases

Look for the Energy Star label on new appliances to choose the most energy efficient products available.

Do not leave appliances on standby

Use the "on/off" function on the machine itself. A TV set that's switched on for 3 hours a day (the average time Europeans spend watching TV) and in standby mode during the remaining 21 hours uses about 40% of its energy in standby mode.

Wrap your water heater in an insulation blanket

You’ll save 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple action. You can save another 550 pounds per year by setting the thermostat no higher than 50°C.

    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

  11. Some credible sources have been cited for saying electricity use is one of the most harmful causes of global warming. Coal burned DIRTY and causes much worse damage to the environment then cars. Use less electricity.

  12. Well, Well, Well ... if you do want to achieve it, it can be done.  Just read about the life of people in the 18th & 19th century.  How they led a full, busy yet simple life.  There were no tractors, leave alone combines, no cars, no planes, no push buttons anywhere.  Bicycles were just invented.  It was a difficult but healthy lifestyle.  There were no reported cases of cancer.  People died at a ripe old age.  Most of the tools and belongings were handed down from father to the son; who again used it for many more years.  The bullock, horse and cow were man's best friend besides the dog and cat ofcourse.  Think about it.  If you can lead such a life again, it is possible BUT everyone should be ready to do it.

  13. Global Warming is the long term average rise in near Earth surface temperatures - basically it means that the atmopshere is getting hotter. Climate Change is something slightly different although they are often confused, CC refers to the effects of global warming and not to the warming itself.

GW can't realistically be prevented although it can be slowed down and there are various things you can do on this website http://profend.com/global-warming/pages/... - check out the links to other sites as well.
