  1. It isn't.  God, being a fiction, can promise nothing.

  2. 1. God promised mankind that He would make a way to be back in a right relationship with Him.

Gen 3:15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

    2. God needed a sacrifice that would be perfect and that sacrifice would need to shed its blood for the consequences of sin to be abated.

Gen 3:21  Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

    3. Throughout the Old Testament God placed the hints or prophcies of Jesus' life, death, and purpose. There are to many to recount here, but you can find them.

  3. Perfect man failed and perfect man succeeded and now all is balanced and returned to grace.

  4. All your have to do is know that Jesus died for you and accept him as your personal savior!  Then you receive God's promise.

  5. God's promised has always been fulfilled in his word.

  6. The complete answer is very long. I'll attempt to summarize.

The whole Old Testament is pointing to the coming of a Messiah or Savior. The law was given to demonstrate that we can't be perfect. Animal sacrifices were given to demonstrate that sin is serious business and that the penalty for sin is death. Rituals were given to demonstrate that God is holy and cannot be approached any old way.

God, being holy and perfect,is quite literally unapproachable by anyone who has even a hint of sin. We all do, so we all are cut off. Since we are sinners, the only thing we can do is die to pay the penalty for our sins.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ, the Messiah and Savior comes on the scene. Born of a virgin, he does not inherit man's sin nature. He is perfect and sinless. Because he need not die to pay the price for his own sins, he is the only one qualified to take the penalty for us. only a sinless savior could do that. In so doing, he opened the way for us to get to God.

To use a theological term, Jesus' sacrifice "justified" us. That is, at the moment we accept that Jesus is our savior, *his* righteousness is imputed to us. When God looks at us, he sees Jesus.

God's promise won't be completely fulfilled until Jesus comes again. For now he is redeeming men and women. In the last days he will return to redeem the entire universe, returning it to it's former perfect state.

    I hope this helps.
