I have applied for a job that I really want. The following is what Ihas transpired so far. Of course, the steps are shown and you can't get to one without hitting the first... This Thursday is two weeks. I thought I would have heard something by now..Your thoughts on my chances?

1-Filled out online survey

2-Granted phone interview

3-Granted in-person interview 7/31 which went very well

4-Received the online application (next step) within 4 hours of my in-person interview

5-Signed release for consumer report or investigative consumer report 7/31 and returned by fax.

Was told on 7/31 that this was the last day for interviews and they expected to have everything in order in 2-3 weeks.

Training for cust svc call center for a health insurance company beginning on 9/8.

  1. My suggestion is trying to obsord as much information as you can before making up your mind, here is a good one.http://health-insurance.tips4free.info/h...

  2. There may be  many reasons you haven't heard from them.

-Summertime vacation schedules make getting approvals and clearing necessary channels for hiring a real hassle.

-HR has many functions and hiring is just one of them.

-HR doesn't work in the unit that is shorthanded so there is no real rush on their behalf.

    - The process of reference checks/background checks/ and internal paperwork be slow.

I wouldn't worry too much, they took the time to go through the easier steps, they must be interested. If the call center is not a part of the parent company (most likely) , they probably will not operate in a manner consistent with what one would expect .

  3. I think you have another week until you could hear from them. They said on the 31st that they will have everything in order in 2-3 weeks. Taking that literally, that would be the 21st at the latest. It sounds like they are hiring for a lot of positions? That could be the reason for the delay.

I would not worry, yet! If you do not hear by the end of this week, I would give them a call to follow-up and make sure everything is in order.

    GOOD LUCK!
