Has anyone here used a neoprene rash vest? I wanted to get something to provide a little insulation in the summer when a wetsuit's not really necessary, so does anyone know if these do the job?

  1. Hi as a fellow surfer I use a rashie all the time as I find that the water is always cold and suffer from cramp if I don't use one also it helps with wax rash on the belly. So I think that they are very worthwhile and use one all year round. Get one and you won't regret it. If you can prolong your session all the better.

  2. From a kayakers perspective, Check out some Hydroskin at your local paddle spot. You could also check out NRSweb .com and get their Mystery jacket.

  3. If you are surfing then a neoprene rashie would work well but if kayaking is your thing then chances are it'll be uncomfortable and itch like h**l under your arms etc...

Check out a company called "Chillcheater" they make excellent surf gear that's warm, well priced and very thin / lightweight!

    Hope this helps.

  4. I use my rash vest under my wetsuit in winter as well as with shorts in summer for waterski-ing in the UK so they're pretty versatile. It's a nightmare trying to take it off though!!
