Question:

How good are the West Coast Eagles?

They fielded a team of youngsters, many with single figure games played. They beat Essendon, who were on a roll - having won 6 of their past 7 games.

I know you'll all agree with me when I say they will be a force to be reckoned with next year - & a true threat the following year.

All is not lost in the Eagles nest!

  1. They were OK.

They will have to be better than that though.....they play Melbourne next week.

  2. Round 22 will see the destruction of West Coast at the hands of Geelong

  3. Yep, you don't have to pursuade me,  I said all along they have had more than their share of injuries from the very start of this season, they will be back next year, around midfield on the ladder,at a guess, joining my mob. 9th 10th.

  4. You are correct, the eagles did well with very little resource, but your attitude isn't commendable.

"You only beat Essendon"said a Magpie barracker. Yeah, you did, but as I remember the Essendon team thumped the Magpies(WITH the shaws and didak) three weeks back.St Kilda couldn't do that with a full team and the above players suspended.

Essendon, decimated by injury, has fielded the same 26 players - including emergencies - for almost a month now. Most of them are also very young. Take out Reimers and Lucas, among Essendon's best in those victories, and we are down to 24 and a rookie. It is noticeable that all the good players yesterday were experienced ones, who are hardened to playing every week.

Congratulation on beating Essendon, by less than 2 goals, but boasting lessens brilliance, as my VFL player dad used to say.

  5. their inherently g*y.notice how they give each other a slap on the backside the most...oh and you are g*y...go suk what you obviously like to suk...collingwood the proudest.

  6. Currently they are as good as their position on the ladder, but if they can sign a few of those young guys that played on the weekend the future looks good.

Give it another season 2010 and they'll be playing in September if they can hold the young guys there

  7. Thank heavens I am sick of questions saying we are tanking for the wooden spoon how wrong they are to much pride at the Eagles nest.

  8. They went well on the weekend.

They do have a lot of young players. It will be interesting to see whether they come on & produce the goods in line with the promise they are showing.

    Best of luck.

  9. I will second that!!

2nd youngest team behind carlton but when both brauny and fletch retair and get great draft picks we will be the youngest by far!  i was at the game and it was fantastic, job well done boys!!! premiers 2011!!  Wow did the senoir guys step up, braun, embley, lynchy, adam selwood!! and mcnamara, wilks, MCKINLEY!, scotty selwood young kids were great! also mark lecras :) well done woosha!!!! add in patrick maginity, chris masten, tony notte, brad ebert, eric mackenzie, matty spangher, ryan davis! and natinui or rich!! basically the whole team is great!

Go The Mighty Eagles!!! The pride of Western Australia!!!

BTW your troll is a complete idiot!!

  10. bla bla bla

    sorry they are c**p

  11. That is SO TRUE! The eagles youngsters have all stepped up so much its unbelievable, compare Ben Mckinley from the eagles who is in just his first year of playing AFL - who kicked 7 goals - to matthew loyd who has been playing for about 10 years who only kicked three (and his first two he pushed his player in the back)

The eagles are a hot favourite for the eight next year - they have beaten the saints and essendon who have been in red hot form lately , so the eagles have won 2 of their last 3 wich is outstanding.

And to add to that this year we have two rising star nominations

    Ben Mckinley

    Brad Ebert

And im hoping that mckenzie & mcnamara get one (wilkes cant because he is over the age limit)

Eagles - a force to be reckoned with in 2009.

  12. Win 2 of the next 3 and I'll agree with you.

By the way Pies Fat Feral. I think you've got your Malthouse dates wrong. It'll be 14 years in September.

  13. Such an optimist.Who am I to burst your bubble. GO BOMBERS!

  14. You develop 'em & we'll pinch 'em off you!

We need some good young blokes to replace all those at our club who will be given the sack this year.

Yes, the Eagles went OK but they were only playing Essendon.

EDIT: Asterix, you may not be just a pretty face - I was going on the  newspaper article written by Brad hardy. On Sunday he said it was 14 years & 324 days since Mickey boy coached a premiership - WCE in 1994....So that is 13 years & 324 days. He can't count & I didn't check his figures. I'll give you points for good observation but that wont increase your score!

  15. Essendon just went to sleep in the first 1/4 otherwise we would have been waving the jackets again. You will be very lucky if you beat Melbourne, despite the way they went down to Geelong.

  16. Beating Essendon isn't something to be proud of.....

You have to agree the umpires screwed us, but West Coast deserve it because they worked hard for it.

  17. They did play well with a young team, just like Essendon have done earlier in the year, and clubs like Carlton, Tigers and the Pies are doing.
