How good are these "upflushing" or "macerating" toilets that are used in basement bathrooms?

We are finishing off the basement in a very nice house we just bought and I want to add a bathroom that will be on par with the rest of the house. I am not sure about the quality of these toilets vs. digging through the concrete and going the traditional route. Is there some way to hide the box that is necessary for the system? Are they reliable for use in a bathroom that will have a toilet, sink and shower?
