  1. g.. 115 pounds is kinda heavy

  2. these times are pretty good for a 12yr old who has just started. with time and effort of practice the times will get better but this is a good place to start off.

  3. I dont want to be rude or anything but those times are really bad. But that ok if he  started training he would get better quickly. since he has so much time to cut. Get him to strengthen his legs with lunges and squats only with his own bodyweight. With practise he will improve.

  4. you gotta start somewhere...

  5. For a kid whos new to track and field those are ok but can still be a lot better

he will improve as he practices more everyday

about in a month he should get below 14 seconds in 100

    below 30 seconds in 200

    below 3 minutes in 800

i dont really know abt discus tho

my times when i was 12 are:

    100m - 12.97

    200m - 28.36

    800m - 2min 24 seconds

  6. thats pretty good ive seen better but still thats good

  7. honestly those times are realy bad ur 12?

    when i was 13 i ran

    12.6 100m

    27.5 200m

    and a 1min 400m

r u running on a track or grass? not that it would make a 10 sec diffrence

  8. He's got some work.

For 12, though, he's on his way.

Try getting him to do some weight lifting and leg machines at the gym.

and also, do plenty of practice sprints to work on form, and long runs.

I would say his best bet is sticking with mid-long distances though because it is hard to improve sprinting because its more natural talent.

  9. it's ok

  10. If you really want to rank these go tohttp://www.runnersworld.com/cda/agegradi...

This site tells a percent which tell if your running a world class, national class, regional class or local class. It does all this compared to your age. By your times you sound like your close to regional class

  11. I'm not sure about the discus, but the running times aren't too good. When I was 12 I was around 15 in the 100m. But I was one of the fastest in my school.

But, if he's new to it, he will improve drastically.

    Trust me, he will.

  12. Firstly, am from England and i we do discuss and that in meters, i think thats 15 meters is it??? 100m for 12 year old is a good start, not going to set the world alight by any means but by the looks of things your son is more of a middle distance runner! that 800m time could be going somewhere if he is willing to put effort in! Also the discuss is VERY good in my opinion! I am a 100m runner, 19 now, but I used to do Shot putt at meets aswel as it was a good training aid for my sprinting, i also did Discuss a few times and when I was 15 i was only getting like 25 meters and in some county meets i was gettin medals for it haha! I think you should encourage your son to throwing events as this seems his best bet!

    Hope This Helps, Thanks

  13. 100m- could be better

200m- same as 100m, could be better

800m- this is actually very good

discus- I'm not sure, I'm a runner, not a thrower.

Basically, as a High School Track and XC runner, I would say your son is probably a mid-distance to long-distance runner, not a sprinter. But that's just from looking at those times.
