Question:

How good/bad is the cost of living in Dubai?

I got an offer from a company in Dubai. Being a typical migrant worker...I try to convert the money I am to receive there with the local currency here in my country. The funny thing is...its not as big as I am expecting (though, I'm kind of comparing it with how much I was earning before when I was working in Tokyo). But I so like the company.

I'm considering the offer, but will I survive if I live there? I heard that Dubai is an expensive city.

Can you help me please? This would greatly help me in deciding if I am to sign the contract or not.

Thanks!

  1. Depending on the industry, accomodation is usually supplied. TAKE IT...otherwise you will be  looking at around AED 5,000 for a room in a villa.

Staff accom is great, it usually supplies transport and meals.

Make sure that the company is a well known one and you will end up loving it here. Its a shock at first! but it is a wonderful place.

    Good luck for your future!

  2. Hard to answer, as you haven't given us too much info.  Tokyo may be more expensive to live, I don't know, and can't compare.  Good luck getting a good answer with this little info.
