I was in varsity in high school but only as the 5th girl out of 7- my times for a 2.5 mile race usually range from 15:30 to 16:00 which is fast but not amazing. Do you think the girls in college will kick my ***? Don't answer based on what you think-answer from experience or knowledge please!

  1. It will depend on the college you go to. I know girls who run 6:00 minute miles on high school, but is the number one runner on their college team. It depends on the college.

Of course if you attend Oregon University, you will not be able to keep up with the girls. They are famous for their running programs.

If you attend some local college, you will defiently be able to run with the "big girls."

  2. If you want to compare yourself to college runners go here:

6 Km is 3.7 miles.  The fastest average was 20:59.  So, if you calculate it correctly for a 2.5 mile run they ran 13 minutes.

  3. you need to be able to run at about an upper 4 minute mile pace.

  4. It simply depends on the other students. The chances are however that it will become harder. Just set goals for training that you know you are capable of and if it isn't enough, you did your best, but you can and should always keep trying.
