the first answer is ridiculous. if the dream team could of played in every olympics they would win gold. it was a perfect team.

the USA team now is pretty good. there is a lot of talent out there they will have trouble against, but i think they should take gold

actually the international teams are a lot stronger than they were back then.........

in 96 there was no competition at all but now just looks what happened since 02....USA hasn't won a single gold.....

but i like our chances tho this year........

they look great so far...don't they...have u seen their highlights on youtube...practice games against canada,mexico,and i think a couple other countries,kobe and jason kidd add veteran leadership....theyve got good big men in stoudemire and dwight..i could see them winning gold...they cant get lazy tho...but i think they've also got a great group of coaches this year too.

Well they are so "weak" because your're comparing them to the Greatest Team to ever grace the court. Team USA will win Gold and they have already blown out Canada, Turkey, Lithuania, and Russia in practice games. Try watching them for the talent on the team now. Its Dream Team 2008 style!

This team has no doubt the best players but that alone cannot guarantee a medal. They have to play as a team in order to win. Remember 2006 World Championship where they were knocked out by Greece...

d**n every one of you retards needs to get your dates right. its wasn't the 85 or 96 dream team. it was the 92 dream team. if they don't play together, better than they did against russia, spain is going to wipe the floor with them (lets hope team usa didn't reveal their whole game plan). individually each player in team usa is amazing but its still a team sport. spain and greece and even argentina have that concept as a second nature and its going to be tough to beat. i hope team usa does get the gold, but i think the games will be too close for comfort
