  1. The wireless keyboard and mouse should work fine within a reasonable range. That range depends on the particular type of wireless technology the device uses.

The performance of wireless internet really depends on the type of internet connection you have.  If you have a DSL or cable modem, you should have no problem with your wireless internet.  (If you have a DSL on the slower end of the spectrum you might have a little trouble as a little bit of the speed is lost over wireless. Generally, however, DSL connections are just fine for wireless internet).

It also depends on what you want to do with it. For example, wireless internet is great for browsing the web and checking E-mail, but if you want to play multiplayer online games (like World of Warcraft) or stream high definition movies, wireless might not be the answer.

  2. i've never had any problem with the wireless stuff... u how ever with wireless internet you have to be careful... if you live in a city it might be harder... and the weather could make a difference... i have a wireless router and it seems to be doing just fine... at time tho it can be slow...

  3. Tough to understand your grammar...

But a good description of wireless is

It works great!  But you have to remember a few things about security.

Your most precious protection with anything dealing with networks is Physical Security.

As soon as you hook up a wireless access point, you lose that! I now have physical security from the range of the WAP and I can passively listen from MUCH MUCH farther away.

With that, its still a VERY useful device.

If you are getting ready to buy, make sure you get one that can come close to supporting the 802.11n with MIMO (Multi In Multi Out). It should definitely support a/b/g.

You also want to ensure that you can use WPA2 with AES and TKIP.

Make your PreShared Key LONG and complicated (no words in the dictionary, random if possible, special characters, numbers, letters (upper and lower). DONT use WEP... its worthless.

Change the default password on you WAP.  Most people forget.  You also want to make sure that it cannot be configured remotely or via the wireless (do all your configs directly connected to it).

Many WAPs (priced higher) allow you to turn down the reception. This means you will lose range, but others outside that range wont be able to access you.

Turn off SSID. If your not broadcasting your network's name, it makes it difficult to find it without scanning for it. However, some gaming systems need it turned on to find the network.

Another layer of defense is MAC address filtering!  If your not going to have a lot of guests on the WAP, it is really imperative to use!

If you want to go over the top, there are coverings you can put on windows that are reflective to the signals and directional antennas to help control the RF.

By the way, the best WAP for the money is a Linksys WRC160N.  Do you have a laptop of desktop?  Cause a desktop isnt mobile and having wireless just for that wouldnt make sense!

  4. it works really good i am using it now

  5. it works good lol

  6. depends which one u buy but i say its pretty good u should buy netgear i use it everyday and its pretty good

  7. well it depends.

i have a wireless router and i use it for everything. but for a pc you have to buy a usb thing that can recieve the signal.

  8. Wireless internet works great if you choose a right router. For me in works great on my Linksys. Although the connection is a bit less stable than with a wired connection.

  9. wireless works fine. Wireless internet means that you receive internet to your computer from the router wireless. You need to have a wireless card or receiver in your desktop, not sure if yours has so you need to check. once you have a receiver you can receive internet from your router.
