How good is GP 100 .357 magnum revolver pistol?

Just wondering if anyone has one and how they like it.

I have a stainless steel GP 100 with a six-inch barrel, and I love it.  Recoil is very manageable, and balance and accuracy are excellent.  With a couple of speedloaders, it makes for a solid trail gun.  The extra length of barrel, sight radius, and .357 Magnum power make it a great choice for home defense as well.

My first comment is simple; no one tool fits all hands or all people.  But to answer your question, my wife has the gp100 in stainless steel.  She is about 5'8" tall and it fits her perfectly.  She finds it easier to shoot than a S&W 60, and more accurate (for her) than a Smith 686 (also in stainless).  This is also with the factory grips rather than an after market grip found on a lot of smith's.

Personally, I have a Ruger Security Six with a set of Pachmyer grips.  It shoots well, built like a tank and I have seen several used models for less than $250 which makes it a rather good value.

The Ruger will probably never have the glamor one sees with a Smith or a Colt, much less a Weber.  But if you want good value with excellent reliability, a ruger is hard to beat.

Every firearm Ruger makes is EXCELLENT. The only 2 .357's that are supposed to be better are the S&W 686, and the Colt Python, but for the money Ruger is the best. I personally haven't owned or fired one, I've got the S&W 686, but I've heard nothing but praise for the GP 100, but I do own several Ruger guns and they are all excellent.  Great choice if your'e looking at .357's, very fun caliber.

my dad has one and i score straight tens with it all the time. my dad is lucky to get on target with it. hes got bad eyes and the sights are a full black front site and the rear site has a white ] except on it side. i love it. cause i am one h**l of a shot. its also very reliable easy to clean and easy to maintain. they dont jam up at all.

basically if u can get one get it. it wont fail u. and if u want u can get .38 specials for it if the .357 magnums are to much
