Question:

How good is Mexico City's economy?

I want to start out my own business but I need a relatively stable economy to start at.

  1. The short answer - not that good.

    There is a huge population of poor people, crime/police corruption is a problem, and pollution is some of the worst on the planet.  A little know problem is that Mexico City sits on an earthquake fault.  Some time in our life times, I suspect an earthquake will hit Mexico Cit y and we'll see the greatest lost of life of any natural disaster within the last 100 years.

    One clue would be the millions of people who risk death and arrest to go to the USA.  It would be a lot easier and safer to go to Mexico City but many elect to head north instead.
