  1. Moon is like big rock in sky, lit by sun.  2 photograph moon, U set camera just like for rock in daylight.  Put camera in manual....ooops, your camera not have manual control.  Uh oh.  Not good for moon shooting.  U try trick instead:  make camera take flash picture of moon.  This maybe fake camera out to give faster shutter speed so moon not a big white blob.  Flash not strong enough to light moon up, so is big trick on camera, ha! ha!  But if shutter speed fast enough, it will keep moon from being big white blob in your photo.

For sky at night, use starry sky mode on camera.  See manual and use camera menu.  Camera must be on tripod, unless U want blurry starry sky. Ha, ha!  I make joke.  But tripod important for good photo at night of stars.

No samples from me.  I use camera with manual control.  U use camera with no manual control.  Pictures not the same.

U listen to me, U get good photos.  Trust Mr. A.

  2. Here's a thread on dpreview.com about moon shots with the TZ5.

I was able to take some decent ones with a mini tripod on the hood of my car, using the 10 second delay.  The Starry Sky scene mode was overexposed for a full moon, but the TZ5's iA mode worked fairly well.  I'd like to try it in the Fireworks scene since it is a slightly longer exposure, but much less than the Starry Sky mode.
