He is arguably the most dominant athlete in the history of athletics.  And he's only 32.  Playing a game like golf where the average age of the player is much higher than many other sports, there is no doubt in my mind he will go down as the greatest athlete in the history of the world.

Yeah pretty much but he still wants to rack up the most total wins which Sam Snead has which i think is 82 and Tiger has like 33 after today.

best athlete i have ever seen..and i like his attitude.  commenting on someone elses answer...there were golfers to fathom Nicklaus' abilities including gary player, lee trevino, and arnold palmer..they also did not fold when nicklaus was in the hunt, as guys do when tiger is in the hunt. hats off to rocco, he really made tiger work..i'de like to see guys like sergio and phil and ernie do that more often...dont lose composure and stop playing your game when tiger is doing well

If Tiger can win 30% of all golf tournaments entered, then he is 'Best Ever'.  Too bad that the golf world has set this stupid  18 Major benchmark as the measure of the mark of his greatness.  I totally disagree.

He is not the greatest until he surpasses Nicklaus and his 18 majors - he needs to stay healthy. However, if you factor in a Bus Crash in Ben Hogan's case where they told him he would never walk again - instead Ben won the U.S. Open 1.5 years later - I have to believe maybe Ben is greater overall.

If Tiger wins something like 32 majors - then I believe that record will stand the test of time.

When Jack Nicklaus was in his prime, no one could fathom someone even coming close to his abilities.  Tiger is going to end up breaking most of the records that are available to break in the game of golf.
