I checked my e-mail today and the College Board online said I got a 730 on the subject test in World History, which I took earlier this month. Is that pretty good? (it says detailed analysis by July 5)

  1. On the SAT II Subject Test, a 730 is not a bad score. Most Ivies look for above a 750 on your SAT IIs, however they will not look critically on any score in the 680-740 range. According the the Percentiles and Averages Scores on the back of your SAT Score Report Sheet, a 730 is roughly in the 85th Percentile Range. The average score on World History is 589, with a 750 equaling 89th percentile and 700 equaling 79th percentile. Therefore, a 730 is not a bad score on the SAT World History, and you did significantly better than most kids who take the exam.

  2. the only way youd know is when they give you  your detailed scores and what it means on the scale

  3. I would say anything from 750 up is amazing, but over 700 is still very good.

The average scores applications from Princeton University, with the least percentage of acceptance.

    SAT Critical Reading: 690 - 790

    SAT Math: 700 - 790

    SAT Writing: 690 - 780
