  1. "Because the 1024X1024 monitor seems closer in native pixel resolution to the 1080I signal than an 853X480 monitor it stands to reason that it would show the 1080i signal at a higher resolution - closer to the 1024 than the 853. However, the 1024X1024 monitor uses an interlace scan to see every other line while the 853X480 monitor uses progressive scanning. Using a comparison at a 60hz refresh rate, what you will actually see vertically is 512 lines on the 1024X1024 monitor compared with 480 vertical lines on the 853X480 monitor. Not much difference."

  2. Honestly, I've never heard of one with 1024 pixels, but it's going to be good because that is a ton of pixels.  A 720 isn't that great, although it's a step up from a normal tube TV, but I have a 1080 high def plasma for my PS3 and it's hooked up with an HDMI cable and I can't tell you how f'n amazing it is!

    Good luck dude!

  3. A lot of Plasma MONITORS come in a resolution of 1024 x 768.  According to C-Net - This is the most common resolution for 37- and 42-inch plasma monitors.

This is commonly referred to as a 720p unit. It is still considered A high definition monitor but is NOT FULL HD.

    A Full HDTV has a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

Most experts including the ones at C-Net say you cannot see the difference between a 720 unit and a 1080 one in anything under 50 inches. The pixels are just too close together.
