  1. Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), his wife and his companions were poor.  The prayer of the Prophet (PBUH) was "Oh Allah, give me life of miskeen (poor), give me death of a miskeen and give me hashr along with miskeens".  Prophet (PBUH) and his wifes lived as miskeens.  During the night of the death of Prophet (PBUH), there was no kerosene for lighting the lamp.  Aysha (R.A.) went to the neighbourer and got kerosene as loan for lighting lamp inside her house on that night.  Prphet Mohammed (PBUH) was in effect a King at the time of his death.  He voluntarily chose the life of miskeen in this world.  The companions of the Prophet (PBUH) also chose the life of miskeen in this world.

Nowadays we are running after money (wealth) Allah and forgot Allah who created us and sustain us.  MONEY HAS BECOME ONE OF THE IDOLS OF WORSHIP OF MUSLIMS.  The words of answerer Ameen is an example.

In Urdu language there is a saying "AISA PEER, WAISA PEER, MOOSA PEER, SUBSE BADA PAISA PEER".

  2. We need money for food and drink but not for materialistic. If you are alone and no responsibility. You're free till die.

  3. Well, if some one is really poor, and can hardly take care of himself, how can he ever take care of a family? Does not add up does it?

I think most people want to express that the husband does not have to be a doctor or lawyer for them to marry their daughter to him when they say something that bold.

I do not think you should take it too literally sis. No one would marry his child to some one who would not be able to provide a shelter for her and food an on the table for her and future children.

But having a nice job at an office or factory, for a normal wage is enough.for a lot of parents and women Mashallah if the man is a good Muslim, they do not have to bathe in luxury!

  4. well i wouldnt be able to live life without some money but i dont think money is eveything in life there are some other things like family and friends that come before money well in my eyes hope this helped !!!!!!

    =)

  5. Money is important.

If he is educated so he should have money also. With good education you get good money.

  6. money does not make men

    men makes money

so, it is better to marry a man who can make money, rather than marry money in hope it will make a man

but anyhow, life without any money? very terrible

this why it is one of the islamic prayers (esti3atha)

"na3ooth beka min fitnat al faqr" and "a3ooth bika min al kofr wi al faqr"

and in the local slang "al joo3 kafir"

    and another saying:

"touch my heart, but don't touch my loaf"

"mossa qalbi wala ta mossa ragheefee"

but how much money this is the question.

i think it is like the maslaw pyramid, there is a certain safety margin. that is enough money to pay bills, eat normal meat and provide good accommodation. once this is okay. once the basic needs are satisfied, then one will look into the other things in life, like love,

    HOWEVER,

LIFE IS TERRIBLE TOTALLY WITHOUT MONEY

    BUT

LIFE IS GREATEST WITHOUT THE LOVE OF MONEY

  7. Actually Life would be Horrible without Money in this Modern Days.

  8. I think what these people are trying to say is that a good life isn't solely based upon one's material possessions.

There is no shame in marrying your daughter to someone who is poorer than you.  The prophet (s.a.w) was married to Khadija (r.a) who was quite wealthy, and they had a very loving relationship.

    Salam

  9. Pretty bad

  10. The key is modesty; that goes in everything.

Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not stingy, but hold a balance between those extremes. (Qur'an 25:67)

I don't wish to be a millionaire nor do I wish to live in poverty; just happy and content.

  11. Salam

Well nice thoughts , its a fact that money is important thing to survive , Even Prophets Done Bussiness and Work to earn and support their livlyhood,

but it should be a necessity Not a Purpose for Life,

i think Life without too much money is very peacfull a normal person sleeps very peacfuly with out having any threat and fear of theft , and no more accounting in the mind which disturbes the day night,

so Getting Hilal Rizq is also a Worship ,

  12. If son of Adam had one mountain full of Gold, he'll always be in search for a second. So money's never enough. People always want more than they have, and if you're not happy with what you have, how can you be happy with more? If you're content with what you have, you'll be the richest of all people.

  13. To spend a life, no doubt money is very important.Even Prophet (PBUH) ans Sahaba's used to do work to earn money for their livelihood.

How important it is to spend a good life depends on how one defines the basic necessities of his/her life and how one limits them.Haste of anything results is disaster.More you will collect it, more will be your urge to increase it.

The best way is that one should try to be as simple as possible in every aspect of living.
