How good is the average yahoo games, chess player?

I like to play chess on yahoo games. I'm really not that good at chess, I usually win just under half the time I play with friends face to face, but on yahoo chess I can't ever seem to rate much higher than 1100, and am like in the bottom 5% (or even lower) of all yahoo chess users. What gives? like are the only chess players on yahoo games like super nerds and super advanced at chess? does the typical chess player on yahoo chess do nothing else but play chess on yahoo? or does some computer geeks use computer software to help them play chess?

  1. Varies from idiots to computer geeks cheating on time by using glitches so don't forfeit.

Good chess players avoid yahoo because of the cheaters.

  2. Listen, an 1100 rating is not bad at all, in fact, that's above average.  The more games you play the better your win-loss ratio will look, trust me.

There's absolutely no way to cheat on yahoo chess...unless they find ways to dramatically increase their score without playing any games.  For the most part they are just good chess players and have been playing for a long time.

  3. Yes geeks probably do use softwares to help them win.

And yes, pros do play here.

And yes, geeks just plays too much of it. If you check their record, they probably have 30k games played.

  4. Sorry, guy, but you're really not a very good player.  1100 is a really poor rating.  It's way on the low end of the spectrum.  My USCF rating is about 1700 in real-life (not Yahoo chess) but I'm just an average club player.  When I play in a rated tournament I get my azz reamed big-time by good players.  There are some 2000+ players on Yahoo Chess that can beat you and me blindfold.

  5. Sound like the perfect time to switch to a real chess server. www.freechess.org, otherwise known as the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS). Way better than yahoo chess! More players, better players, anti-cheating checks, training bots, a wide variety of clients....  Did I mention it is FREE?

You won't have to worry about every other opponent being a noob running a chess program in the background or trying to cheat on time!

  6. I know! When I play chess face to face I always win but on the Yahoo Chess I don't. For some reason on the Yahoo they have it so if you reach check then you win (and when I play face to face it's checkmate so that's weird). I think that most of the Yahoo chess players might be on there all the time. Anywho, so I normally only play face to face.

  7. Not computer geeks, smart people. Smarter than you, at least they cheat and can beat you. your the one who keeps on losing..
