  1. I agree with Corvinus!  I don't see why people use electronic Maps these days.  In the 'olden days', my parents used to learn to ... read PROPER maps!

Also, these Sat-Navs are quite often wrong, and/or provide the longest route.  E.g. I was walking down my road a few days ago, and a lorry driver asked me "how do I get to *blah* house?"  I said "it's just down there on your right."

He said "oh, I used my sat-nav and it told me to go this way *explains route*".

The route he said was about 5 miles longer than what I would use.

There are 2 bad points to this:

    1) It takes longer for you to get to your desired destination - therefore leaving you open to lateness.

    2) You are driving for longer, therefore emitting more CO2, and therefore contributing much more to global warming than if you learned to read proper maps!

  2. I have no personal experience with VauxHall sat nav.  But I own 3 GPS and they ALL give ETA.

But in my experience the base MAP database is MORE important than the electronics.  GPS with good map will find more address and is more accurate.  Also some companies don't provide a easy way to update the map (not good if you live in a city with lots of new development - like New Jersey in USA).

So don't get caught up in useless features.  Do your research on the map database.

    Good Luck...
