How good of a PC are you going to probably need for Sims 3?

I can run the Sims 2 really smooth, and according to System Requirements Lab, here are my specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 4000

CPU Speed: 2.59 GHz Performance Rated at 4.00 GHz

O/S: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic Edition, 32-bit (Build Service Pack 16001)

Video Card: ATI Radeon X1250 (ATI Radeon X1200 Series (0x791E))

I think you are going to have to make a choice between Sims 2 and Sims 3. You can always make a backup of your files from Sims 2. Consult the Sims 2 website. They have technical support and I'm sure that they are getting prepared to answer a lot of questions re: Sims 3. They can also guide you on backing up your files.

I think you will be fine for The Sims 3. Me, Im sticking with Sims 2 for 2 reasons. 1. I know absolutely everything and more about The Sims 2 and I don't want to have to learn a whole new game and 2. My computer probably wouldn't be able to handle it being I only have 3 GB of space left... Lol.
