  1. I second what katya  says. Every place has its good and bad aspects. I go further and say that what constitutes a plus or minus may well be in the eye of the beholder.

The average American lives in a house that is literally twice as big as the average Frenchmen and the American house will have far more amenities (multiple bathrooms for example) than the French. Is that an obvious plus or an example of the wasteful excesses of the USA?

The French health care system provides universal health insurance and doctors who still make house calls. Is that an obvious plus or do the costs of that system impose an unfair tax burden that forces productive people to subsidize the non-productive?

Are Americans open, friendly people who readily extend friendships or loud, overbearing and superficial?

Are the French serious, reserved people whose friendships are few but strong or cold, haughty and ungiving?

These are things for you to determine for yourself.

As to women, my own belief is that no nation has an advantage over any other and that beauty, after all, resides more in the heart and soul than in height, weight or hair color.

  2. France, like any country, has its + and -.

Yes, the people are typically nice, but mean people exist like everywhere.

    Food is NOT cheap.

    Kids-it depends.

Beautiful, black haired woman-I'm a woman, so I can't say that I pay attention to this.

Here are my + and - for living in France.

    +

    great food, wine, culture

    inexpensive health care and medicine

    healthcare for everyone

good social aid (unemployment, rent help)

at least 5 weeks of vacation per year

    35 hour work week

    -

bureaucracy , that seemingly simple things become soo difficult in the hands of French administration

    expensive

a bit racist (in my opinion)

  3. One  food way to high sense  we went  euro  ,tax's they pay way to many over everything ,  the government help more  illegals  then they do there own french people  !  kids depend on where you live country kids  act better then the city kids but normal

people nice depend on where you live and if they  approve of the way you  act and speak

edit: one  for Rillifan stop bashing us American ok  so we like nice  things not every one of us is fat thank you yes we like our homes with lawns and not have to live in flats under or over someone  and no not every home in the usa has two bathrooms   and not everyone in the usa is rich and can a ford  high living like many french can   many french own two home summer home and a winter home to go they drive very high class cars shoot   if you  go ot the usa open your eyes  and your mind you won't see our roads are made with gold  and we all don't live  like kings  many of us live from pay check to pay check !

  4. people will be nice if you show them that you try to speak a bit of french, and even if you struggle, most of them will help. Food is more expensive in big towns than countryside. Kids, as everywhere else in the world, will be kids... Women are as diverse as you wish...

If you like it sunny and hot, you wanna be in the south of the country; if you like it mild with cold winters, you're better off on the north. there are plenty of different places: country, mountains, seaside, big crowdy rushy towns....
