Do projectors provide picture quality as good as tvs do? For example would a 1080p projector look as good as a 1080p tv.

Thanks

  1. It depend on how much you are willing to spend?  For $3000 and less, the best Pioneer Plasma can out perform projector but  at expensive price $5000 (60inch).  But a $10,000 projector can out perform 1080P TV, in theater room condition with total darkness and a excellent screen.  1080P Projector can give you a flexibility of screen size 20-120 inch, depend on how you like to view movie (flexible, can move projector any where).  Projector require light control for best picture quality while 1080P doesn't require light control at all.  Right now, I have a 1080P projector (sanyo Z2000 it a 1080P projector), watching KingKong HD DVD 1080P on my Wall is just breath taking at only 90 inch.   IT only cost me $1579.00, if I were to buy a Plasma at that size it would cost me $10,000.

  2. They should. Paired with a good projection screen & sound system, it is the ultimate home movie experience but they are very expensive. I have a 480p and it projects a 1080i signal pretty good. Blu-ray movies and games look awesome. Downside of projectors is you have to buy a new lamp every 2000-3000 hours (about $300+).
